Exceptional cavalry officer's saber of honor, seven-prong wraparound iron guard engraved with leaf garlands, cap engraved with plant motifs and gilded, with long tail and shuttle-shaped auricles, left auricle with gilded AD initials, rolled quillon engraved with flowers and gilded, over-cornered wooden spindle sheathed in gray shagreen, superb slightly curved blade 890 mm, engraved with scrolls, foliage and trophies of arms, flat back engraved with a garland of leaves and gilded on the half, brushed steel scabbard with two bracelets engraved with gilded florets, palmettes and gilded sting, engraved between the bracelets "La ville d'Ambert reconnaissante au Chef d'escadron de cavalerie A. NUMED", and on the reverse "La ville d'Ambert reconnaissante au Chef d'escadron de cavalerie A. NUMED".NUMED", and on the reverse in a gilded cartouche "Pirmet à Paris", wear from use and traces of old oxidation otherwise BE-TBE, LT 1075 mm, France Empire/Restoration period. (PIRMET in Paris, arms manufacturer from 1801 to 1818, arms manufacturer for King Louis XVIII in 1816).
