The book is accompanied by a set of personal and family documents relating to the Tortat family, including : a leather pouch stamped "Le Brun Notaire" containing notarized documents, a notarized document Constatation d'emploi par Monsieur Tortat dated May 13, 1898, a decree dated September 19, 1889 appointing Monsieur Josaphat Tortat, ceramist Officier d'Académie, a watercolor on free paper (29,6 x 22 cm), an inventory after the death of Madame Tortat dated March 30, 1896 (10 sheets), a sketchbook with graphite on filled paper (14.5 x 9 cm), a set of 19th-century family documents including bond contracts, Notification de Cession, quittance, birth certificate, receipts and others. This unique "collaborator's" copy should be added to the 250 numbered, rare works printed on dozens of different papers, designed to introduce bibliophiles to color printing and typography techniques. The author writes in his preface: "What is certain is that the reader is beginning to tire of always seeing black on white, and that the Book of Tomorrow will not resemble the Book of Yesterday. I have tried to show how color can be introduced not only to adorn it, but also to serve as an aid to the writer".
