Troop helmet for mounted trumpeters of the Garde de Paris, model 1860, modified 1872, steel bomb, numbered 2660, faceplate with coat of arms of the city of Paris on a radiant background and Garde de Paris in a cartouche, crest with gaudrons (soldering/repairs) and black horsehair marmoset, brass plume holder and large scarlet plumeet, chinstraps with interlaced 8-links and stamped rosettes, interior with nine wolf's teeth, wear from use, worn headdress, France 3rd Republic period. Provenance: lot no. 264 from the Jean Dit Cazaux & Associés sale in Bordeaux on 02/12/2005.
