King's bodyguard helmet, first model 1814, black patent leather bomber with silver-plated copper trim, radiant sunburst faceplate with two interlaced L's, surmounted by Louis XIV's motto "Nec Pluribus Impar" (Superior to all), on each side of the bomber is a palm leaf curled forward, crest decorated with feathers and acanthus, topped by a mane of black mane mounted as a chenille, chinstraps with chinstraps and rosette with radiant sun, plumet holder and plumet in white feathers with silver olive of the model, black leather and gray satin interior (significant wear to leather), wear from use, headdress worn, unusual in this condition, France first restoration period.
