LAGÉNIE Pierre (1938-2020) Le chagrin Bronze with bronze patina Signed and numbered 1/8 Plexiglas base Height : 32.5 cm - Width : 20 cm - Depth : 24.5 cm Note: Born in Le Bouscat, Pierre Lagénie studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Bordeaux, before joining sculptor Marcel Gimond's studio at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1957. He works in bronze, his main source of inspiration being the harmony of the female form. "By choosing the allegory of Woman, Pierre Lagénie has carved out a path where his work becomes timeless, independent of his century, of his time." Public works : - Bust of Ludovic Trarieux at the Salons de l'Ordre des Avocats at the Bordeaux Law Courts in 1984 - Large shell on the forecourt of the La Varenne-Chennevières RER station in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés. - Tribute sculpture to young deportees in Saint-Hilaire square, Saint-Maur-des-Fossées.
