It is carved with a zoomorphic figure of the upright monkey god holding a kero with a trophy head in its hands, its open mouth symbolically sticking out its tongue (a sign of defiance and victory). Wood, old patina and marks of time. Chimu, Chancay, Peru, 1100 to 1400 A.D. Dimensions: 65 X 6 cm Provenance : former collection of Ralf Kotalla, Stuttgart, founder of the thermoluminescence laboratory of the same name.
