Note: "The term Cinématographe or Cinematograph refers to the devices produced by the Lumière company. They combined a camera, a photocopier and a film projector in a single device. The first screening with the Cinématographe took place on March 22, 1895 at the Société d'Encouragement à l'Industrie National in Paris before a select audience. The first public screening followed on December 28, 1895 at the Grand Café on Boulevard des Capucines. Thanks to its ease of use, the Cinématographe quickly spread throughout the world.
