DETOUCHE Constantin- Louis (1810- 1889) Bronze and copper mantelpiece including a clock and two candelabras. The rectangular clock has a round white enamelled dial marked "C. Detouche Fseur de l'Empereur/rue St Martin 228 & 230 Paris". Detouche Fseur de l'Empereur/rue St Martin 228 & 230 Paris" features Roman numerals for the hours and a railway around the perimeter, and is surmounted by a bacchanalian scene of putti, one holding a billhook, the other a vine oath and the last pouring a glass of wine; it stands on a base embellished with flower branches, and rests on four scrolled feet. The candelabras feature recalled putti shafts supporting foliage and flowering branches, terminating in four bobèches.
