Late 19th century FRENCH SCHOOL Portrait of Pierre Edouard Gautier Dagoty Pastel 55.5 x 45 cm Provenance : Collection Emilie Cuginaud (1820 - 1887), née Gautier - Dagoty, daughter of the model ; Collection Marguerite Jeanne Clara Bouchard (1844 - 1921), née Cuginaud, her daughter; Collection Antoine Bouchard (1872 - 1939), his son; Since remained in the family. Pierre Edouard Dagoty (Florence 1775 - Bordeaux 1871), son of Edouard Dagoty, lived in Florence until 1806. He then moved to Bordeaux in 1806, where he became a fashionable miniaturist, portraying high society. He was nicknamed "the Isabey of Bordeaux".
