Bakthiar carpet (cotton warp and weft, wool pile), southwest Persia north of the Persian Gulf, circa 1940-1970 262 x 162 The rug features a double medallion in ivory and red, extended by two pendants on a background of elegant polychrome stylized floral decoration. The entire composition is embellished with four spandrels. A red border with flower garlands is encircled by noble counter-borders. Wear, small accident, stains and probably diminished.
