LEFRANC Roland (1931-2000) The great tide Oil on canvas Signed lower right - Label of the Gallery France Art Paris on the back 33 x 41 cm Note : "From 1960, the artist exhibited more and more in Normandy, Brittany, Sicily, Paris, and was encouraged by numerous regional and national prizes. In 1970, he won the friendship of Pierre Imbourg who directed "L'Amateur d'Art" and devoted a book to him. From 1975 onwards, he exhibited regularly at the Salon des Peintres Témoins de leur temps and participated in numerous group exhibitions. His reputation as a post impressionist landscape painter, whose bold, animated and richly colored workmanship crossed the borders of France, seducing the Swiss, the Japanese and the British in particular. He began to travel to Switzerland, Holland, Morocco, Spain, Italy, then Peru, Bolivia, Russia, without ever finding the sources of his naturalist inspiration in his province of Lower Normandy.
