EMIE Louis (1900-1967), after - Lot 189
EMIE Louis (1900-1967), after Poems : "Time, this monster with thousand heads, took ours between its arms To add to its conquests The faces which they do not have - December 31, 1957 - Louis Emié" Lithography in colors 31 x 24 cm at sight Framed piece Note: The Bordeaux poet was close to the intelligentsia during his youth, he accompanied his friend Jean-Loup Simian in the creation, in 1927, of the movement of the Independent Bordeaux Artists. Throughout his life he was close to several artists, such as the painters Georges and Yvonne de Sonneville, the sculptor Georges Rivière, who executed two plaster busts of him, one of which is preserved in the Bordeaux Museum of Fine Arts. He maintained more or less continuous relations with most of the artists of the Bordeaux school until the 1960s, such as Edmond Boissonnet and Jac Belaubre. Finally, towards the end of his life, he illustrated himself in the plastic arts, by making glued papers and drawings of an astonishing freshness, some of which illustrated book covers for Seghers.
