Bronze mantelpiece partly with brown patina, the clock has a round white enamelled dial marked "SUSSE FRERES PARIS" indicating the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in Arabic numerals, iron track on the perimeter, the hands openworked with scrolls. It is set in a terminal whose fluted sides are surmounted by a cherub catching a gallinaceous bird while leaning on a pile of books and rests on a stepped base decorated with a planted flowerbed and a frieze of waves as a reminder of the candelabras and finished by five feet hemmed with a frieze of pearls. The set is flanked by a pair of bronze candelabras, the shaft featuring satyr children supporting four arms of lights decorated with acanthus leaves, foliage and scrolls fixed in fall around a column partly ringed, grooved and topped with a flaming torch. It stands on four feet.
