PUNU - GABON Eshira" mask made of polychrome wood with a patina, the eyes wrinkled, the corners of the mouth incised. The headdress consists of an inverted truncated cone, resembling a mortar, flanked by small lateral braids with slightly raised ends. Trace of numbering on the back 683/350 Height : 30 cm 30 cm high Note : This type of mask was invested with the power to discover witches. Two examples are known, the one from the former Helena Rubinstein collection and the one from the Munchen collection in New York.
