LE NANTEC Jacques (born in 1940) Melanie Resin with brown patina Signed and dated 87 - Numbered 481/1000 Height : 18 cm 18 cm - Width : 10 cm - Depth : 13 cm Note : Pseudonym of Jacques Métayer. In 1959, Jacques Le Nantec entered the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris. To live and finance his sculptures, he is in turn a decorator, a cartoonist (Spirou newspaper) and a wax figure modeller. From 1969 onwards, he carried out public commissions such as the Monument to Marshal Jean de Lattre de Tassigny in Mantes-la-Jolie. In 1990 he created a foundry in Ayutthaya, Thailand. The artist successively opened a gallery "Vent d'Est Vent d'Ouest" and then his "Secret Museum" in Macao from 2006, the place of his current residence. Bibliography : J. P. A.
