LE NANTEC Jacques (born in 1940) Anita Medal skate resin Signed "Gaumondy", dated 82 and numbered 43/1000 High. : 41 cm - Length : 29 cm - Depth : 20 cm Note: Pseudonym of Jacques Métayer. Some of his works including this one are signed "Gaumondy", named after the artist's grandmother, Francine Gaumondy. In 1959, Jacques Le Nantec entered the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris. In order to live and finance his sculptures, he was in turn a decorator, comic strip artist (from the newspaper Spirou) and wax figure modeler. From 1969, he realized public commissions such as the Monument to Marshal Jean de Lattre de Tassigny in Mantes-la-Jolie. In 1990 he created a foundry in Ayutthaya, Thailand. The artist opened successively a gallery "East Wind West Wind" then his "Secret Museum" in Macau from 2006, the place of his current residence. Bibliography : J. P. A.
